Thigh-Body Lift
Who is thigh-body lift best for?
Patients who are not happy with the excess skin on the thighs
What is a thigh-body lift?
A cosmetic procedure performed in the operating room under general anesthesia that shapes the thigh by removing excess skin and soft tissue as well as fat from the thigh.
What is the procedure like?
This procedure takes about 2 hours. This is a 1-day surgery. You do not stay in the hospital overnight.
What would my scars look like?
Incision length and pattern depend on the amount and location of excess skin to be removed. Incisions are usually placed on the inside of the groin, extending downward and wrapping around the back of the thigh.
To improve the contours of the outer thigh, an incision extending from the groin around the hip may be necessary. These incisions and scars may be extensive.
What is recovery like?
After this procedure, you will be sent home with a tight compression garment on the areas treated. This is used to reduce swelling. You will also have drains in the thighs to drain any fluid that is present. These are removed 1-2 weeks later.
Any pain and discomfort that you experience are easily treated with oral pain medication. The areas will likely be bruised and swollen for at least 1 month.
When can I go back to work and start exercising again?
Patients can usually return to work in about 2 weeks if your job does not involve heavy lifting. Any strenuous activity should be avoided for 4-6 weeks. It usually takes about 4 to 6 months to get back to regular exercising.
