What is the Brazilian butt lift?

A cosmetic procedure performed in the operating room under general anesthesia that uses liposuction and fat grafting to reshape, enhance, and enlarge the buttock in size and shape.

What is the procedure like?

This procedure takes about 2-hours. This is a 1-day surgery. You do not stay in the hospital overnight. The fat that was liposuctioned out from other areas of the body is processed, purified, and injected into the buttock using multiple small injections throughout the buttock.

Results of this procedure are almost immediately visible, although the final results are not seen until up to a year after surgery. Some of the initial volumes that are seen directly after surgery may fade as not all of the fat will “take”.

What would my Brazilian butt lift scars look like?

Liposuction scars are very small and usually heal up with no issue.

What is recovery like?

After this procedure, you will be sent home with a supportive compressive garment to wear 24/7 until told otherwise.

You will need to avoid prolonged sitting for up to 2 weeks.

You need to sleep on your stomach or side and avoid any pressure to the buttock in order to preserve the fat. You may have some pain and discomfort. This is easily treated with oral pain medications.

When can I go back to work and start exercising again?

Patients can usually return to work in about 1-2 weeks. Any strenuous activity should be avoided for 4 weeks.
