Who is eye lift surgery for?
Patients who are not happy with the excess skin around the eye and would like to obtain a more youthful and awake appearance around the eye.
What is eye lift surgery?
A cosmetic procedure performed either in the operating room under general anesthesia or in the office under local anesthetic that removes excess skin around the eyelid to obtain a more youthful and awake look.
What is the procedure like?
This procedure takes about 1 hour. Excess skin and fat are removed from the upper and lower eyelids.
What would my scars look like?
Incisions are made where the natural creases should be in the upper eyelid and lower eyelid to be as inconspicuous as possible.
What is recovery like?
After this procedure, you may have some pain and discomfort that is easily treated with oral pain medication or Tylenol. You may also have swelling and bruising and swelling in the area.
Sutures are removed in about 4 days at which time makeup can easily cover this bruising.
When can I go back to work and start exercising again?
Minimum activity for 3-5 days. Patients can usually return to work in about 1-2 weeks. Any strenuous activity should be avoided for 4 weeks.
